Goose proof?

Writer's picture: Bayou ParkBayou Park

Just a heads up as we head into Canada Goose nesting season where geese love to walk and poop all over our beautiful beach if they’re given the opportunity—- we’ve got a very simple solution: A single line of rope.

According to experts, Canada geese land on water then walk onto land. If they can’t see land (high weeds) or if there is a single string or rope, they often will find an easier place to hang out.

They are also sometimes frightened by shiny moving things like pinwheels, so we put a few of those for good measure.

SO— when you’re done with the beach, please clip the rope line back up. But also, if your down at the beach and you see the rope not clipped on, please help by clipping it on. 👍🏻👍🏻
