2020 - A Year In Review

On behalf of the BPRA 2020-2022 Executive Board Members, thank you for a great 2020!

Thank you for your 2020 membership payment, for your continued participation in our events, and for your support and encouragement for the volunteers of our little local community group. 2020 has been a landmark year for BPRA event participation and online community engagement. Below are some of our 2020 milestones and successes.

August 2020

-First online election of the BPRA Executive Board is held. The 2020-2022 Executive Board Members are voted in and confirmed by community member Ginette Pineo. Claire Lysnes is confirmed as President.

-Executive Members collect $3,873 in membership fees thanks to our new online, e-transfer, and of course in person, dues collection.

-Social Media: BPRA Facebook Page is refreshed, regularly updated and now has 115 community members following our group. BPRA's first Instagram page is created and now has 50+ followers of community members and local businesses.

September 2020

-New BPRA website and new official BPRA email address is created! www.bayoupark.org and info@bayoupark.org are born thanks to the help of Andrew Kinnear who trained the Executive Board Members on the finer points of website creation and maintenance.

-Membership sign refurbishment. Membership notice board was painted and made more accessible to readers; it was also moved away from the smelly township pipes. Finishing touches to be made in the Spring of 2020.

October 2020

-Fall Clean Up at the Beach Park. Executive members and community volunteers clean up the beach, the lawn and the shed in preparation for the winter season.

-Pumpkin Walk 2020 was cancelled due to inclement weather. However the BPRA gave away large pumpkins to interested member families and we enjoyed all of the submissions for our First Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. The Coburn family was declared victorious and took home a sweet prize pack donated by The Candy Shoppe. 50 treat bags were also given out upon request to the children of our members. Thank you to the following local businesses that filled those bags with amazing treats!

Yorke Motivational Consulting

Lake Country Office Solutions

Lakeside Elegance

KRS Cranes

Earth Electric

Yellofruit

The Candy Shoppe

KDC Kustom Construction

Severn Fire

December 2020

-First Annual Home for the Holidays: Festive Lights Contest was held. As voted on by our members, the prize for Best Lights was awarded to Les & Penni Courts. They took home a $100 gift card to Canadian Tire that was generously donated by community member, Dan Hosegood, owner of Hosegood Plumbing. Second Prize Winners, Danielle & Peter Robaszek, took home a Tim Horton's Prize pack from the BPRA. Three participating households also won by random draw a trio of pints of Yellofruit dairy-free ice cream, donated by owner Andrew Kinnear. Winners were: Sarah Reynolds, Kerri Fogarty, & Carla Izzotti.
